We know it can be challenging managing your responsibilities and studying. That’s why we’ve designed the Levene EMBA to fit into your busy life. Classes are scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays every other week over three semesters. Condensed one-week classes are offered twice during the program.

Courses

Classes may be offered in different order than presented below. Changes will be communicated well in advance of the affected terms. Classes will be delivered on campus.

 

One Week Course (5 days) / August 2027

(8:30 am – 4:30 pm, daily)

Management as a System

Management as a system provides students with an introduction to the elements and processes that contribute to overall organizational effectiveness. With an emphasis on building practical knowledge of organizational systems, the course provides students with a foundation for future classes in the Levene Executive MBA Program.

Semester 1 / Sep – Dec 2027

Six Fridays & Saturdays, every other week (8:30 am – 4:30 pm)

Negotiation and Conflict Resolution

This course will introduce students to the theory and practice of negotiation and conflict resolution within and between organizations in domestic and global settings. The techniques learned will be applicable to many different situations and students will have the opportunity to demonstrate such skills in the course.

Accounting for Managers

Students examine accounting's role in an organization focusing on accounting information for decision-making and performance measurement. Students are introduced to the fundamental concepts of management and financial accounting with a concentration on the use rather than the preparation of accounting information.

Management and Organizational Behaviour

This is an overview course that introduces students to the theories explaining individual and group behaviors in organizations and how they affect overall organizational effectiveness. The course takes an evidence-based approach and introduces students to research by demonstrating how research outcomes translate into effective organizational practices.

Management Information Systems

Taking an information systems view (systems comprised of the interaction between information technology (IT), processes, people and structure) this module provides comprehensive coverage of existing and emerging IS related management and organizational issues and opportunities.

Semester 2 / Jan – Apr 2028

Six Fridays & Saturdays, every other week (8:30 am – 4:30 pm)

Business Research Methods

This course prepares students for the EMBA 900 Research Paper by introducing them to research methods commonly used in business. It includes an overview of secondary research and qualitative research methods (e.g., focus groups and interviews). Quantitative methods will also be discussed, including the use of data analysis software.

Human Resource Management

Students will learn how Human Resources can be leveraged to gain a competitive advantage through integration with an organization’s overall strategy. Special topics include human resource issues in mergers and acquisitions, the role of Unions, HR processes and the role they play in the everyday operations of organizations.

Finance for Managers
This course will focus on the theory and practice of financial decision making, including financial performance measurement, capital budgeting, risk analysis, cost of capital, and valuation.
Entrepreneurship and Innovation

This course introduces the principles, tools, and leadership approaches central to creating, evaluating, and advancing new ventures and innovation initiatives. Students will get an understanding of topics such as entrepreneurial thinking, opportunity recognition, business model design, and innovation management across both emerging and established organizations. Course applies analytical, creative, and evidence-based methods to design value propositions, assess market potential, and develop viable implementation strategies.  Such strategies include managerial attention, behavioural analysis, social capital resource management, establishment of legitimacy, and entrepreneur-to-CEO transitions.

Perspectives on Leadership

This course examines different perspectives on leadership and the implications for leaders in a variety of organizational settings. Topics include: transformational leadership, charismatic leadership, ethical leadership, destructive leadership, strategy and leadership, and indigenous leadership.

International Study Course / May – June 2028

International Study Course

This course is intended to expose students to global business techniques through a visit to a foreign country. During the one-week trip abroad, students will tour business facilities and meet with business leaders, in order to expand their appreciation for international business strategies and opportunities.

Semester 3 / Sep – Dec 2028

Production and Operations Management

This course deals with the principles of designing, controlling, managing and improving the operations of an organization. Potential issues include process analysis and improvement for manufacturing and service organizations, supply chain management, lean operations, and quality management.

Marketing for Managers

Students will explore and apply marketing management practices and theories and evaluate marketing strategies leading to an understanding of the complexities of marketing. The course will focus on strategies and tactics related to the marketing mix, market segmentation, positioning, consumer analysis, pricing, promotion, distribution, global markets, technology, and current trends.

Business, Government, and Society

This course focuses on the complex ecosystem within which firms operate, including stakeholder relationships and the societal, political and legal arrangements and expectations that condition firm behaviour. Cases deal with governmental bodies, activists and interest groups, and other constituencies of the firm across a wide spectrum of issues and public policy.

Strategy

This course focuses on the general management perspective in the development, evaluation, and implementation of organizational strategy. Lectures and discussion on topical strategic issues will be augmented by the analysis of comprehensive cases which serve to integrate concepts and insights from other courses.

Capstone /  Research Project / Jan - Mar 2029

Capstone Research Project

Under the guidance of an advisor, a student analyzes a significant organizational problem using an evidence-based approach. It is a project guided by scholarly research but grounded in practice intended to generate better informed organizational decisions. This course will be graded on a credit/no credit (C/N) basis.

We help experienced leaders step back from the daily grind to see the bigger picture. Through theory, real-world dilemmas, and peer-led discussions, they assess challenges holistically, lead change effectively, and drive meaningful results.

If you’re a management professional without an undergraduate degree or the required GPA, you may still qualify if you have a minimum of eight-to-ten years senior-level work experience

The Levene EMBA program is only offered every two years. This is the final intake until 2029.

Your tuition covers more than you might think.

Your tuition fee covers almost everything you need to attend the program over its full length. This includes your full tuition for the entire program, all textbooks, on-campus parking for the duration of the program, the international study tour (including accommodations, flights) plus breakfasts and lunches throughout the program whether on-campus or abroad. Plus, your tuition fee can be paid in full or over three installments.
